About Orange & Natural Wines

What is Orange Wine?

Orange wine, also known as amber wine or skin-contact wine, is made from white wine grapes fermented with their skins, just like red wine. This ancient winemaking technique originated in Georgia thousands of years ago.

The extended skin contact gives these wines their distinctive amber color, along with unique tannins, phenols, and complex flavors not typically found in white wines.

Natural Wine Philosophy

Natural wines are made with minimal intervention in both vineyard and cellar. This means:

  • Organic or biodynamic farming
  • Hand-harvested grapes
  • Native yeast fermentation
  • No additives or adjustments
  • Minimal or no sulfites added
